16 Stores in 16 Years (and counting!)

Our story starts long before our first Dunkin' opened in Florida.

John and Jean Griffey, Brian and Beth Ramos, and Jim and Judy Yoakum spent years building and operating a successful network of Dunkin' restaurants in Connecticut. In 2010, the three families made the decision to invest in a place that was much more than a business opportunity—it was home.

John Griffey and his aunt, Judy Yoakum, were both born and raised in St. Augustine. After years of building restaurants in the Northeast, they saw an opportunity to bring their experience back to the community where their family's Florida roots began. Together, the Griffey, Yoakum and Ramos families opened their first Dunkin' on U.S. 1 in St. Augustine with a simple goal: build great restaurants, create meaningful jobs, and become part of the communities they served.

As the business grew, so did their commitment to the region. The partners eventually sold their Connecticut restaurants to focus exclusively on Northeast Florida. In 2021, Jim and Judy Yoakum retired after helping lay the foundation for the company's success, leaving John and Jean Griffey and Brian and Beth Ramos to continue leading the business.

Today, what began as a single restaurant has grown into 16 Dunkin' locations across St. Johns and Putnam counties. While the company has grown, one thing hasn't changed: we're still a family-owned business rooted in this community. The Griffey and Ramos families live in Northeast Florida today, and their children and grandchildren are growing up here as well.

We're proud to employ hundreds of local team members, serve thousands of guests each day, and support the neighborhoods where we live, work, and raise our families.

For us, this has never been just about coffee. It's about building something lasting in the community we've always been proud to call home.

New Dunkin’ coffee shop brings more growth to Hastings

“I grew up around here, so opening a restaurant in Hastings really felt like going back to my roots. At the same time, the area is growing quickly, the road is busy, and we saw a real opportunity to invest in a town that’s moving forward.”

Retirement often has a way of reminding people of how much they like work better than sitting around. That and an opportunity to work with family drew Judy and Jim Yoakum out of retirement and back to Judy's hometown of St. Augustine.
